The active link to the pdf files is contained in the TripAdvisor post numbered previously, not here. Sorry about that. The conversation there is worth checking out if you are interested in this topic. I don't know if the regulations in these documents would be adhered to anyway (I doubt it) but again, they might be useful if one is DECLARING excess alcohol. It is not illegal to take more but you Will be subjected to a cost of some kind. As cheap wine (cask quality) is not available at DF stores, (I didn't see any casks at Perth airport, one would have to check it. I would advise taking it out at the airport and keeping it in view (its going to be picked up on XRAY anyway,) so as not to appear to be trying to smuggle in contraband. That would seem to me to be a clear indication that you know you will be expected to pay SOME amount albeit, possibly LESS on a 4ltr cask than indicated by the calculations given before. Of course, if the booze is declared, and it should be, you will probably be directed to an officer. Again, I would not advise arguing with an official in an Indonesian airport. Especially if you haven't declared your excess. You might be fined for submitting or falsifying a document as well as exceeding limits! I am not trying to encourage corruption either I just accept that it exists and am trying to learn how to deal with it. I realize that this is a lot about not a lot really, but once having delved into a subject, I like to flesh it out.
Thanks to ALL who commented as it made my first forum foray a true learning curve!
