I don't always tip but when I do it is for services rendered...the better the service the better the tip...naturally as the night gets longer the tips tend to get heavier, but as a rule of thumb 10,000 Rp is only just over a $1 so I usually tip 10,000 Rp, 20,000 Rp or 50,000 Rp if warranted.
At the end of the day it all adds up for them.
Only last year thought I gave a waitress in the Secret Garden, Poppies1 a 10,000Rp tip and to my surprise she came back and said too much!... apparently I had given her 100,000Rp... so I still gave it to her as sign of respect for her honesty.
