I answered it because I have flown AA from Coolangatta to Bali via KL as well as Coolangatta To Vietnam and Thailand via KL.

As I had said it is a long way around to get to Bali and back but sometimes the price makes it worthwhile.

I would also suggest that you make sure it is a "Fly Through" booking.

That way when you arrive in KL you just go straight to the transit lounge and wait for your connecting flight to Bali.
You do not have to clear customs or immigration.

When you check in at Adelaide airport you should make sure both legs of your trip ADL-KL-DPS are on the ONE ticket...your luggage should be automatically loaded onto the connecting flight in KL to Bali

If it is NOT " Fly Through" then you will have to book two separate legs, clear customs and immigration in KL and then clear customs and immigration again to board your connecting flight to Bali...allow at least 3 hours for this.

Good luck this time:)
