We have had a few casualties in the last few days. A little Bali belly has crept in but not much damage done- not to me (yet!).
D walked into a glass door at the Boathouse -head first. Small egg on head & slight black eye. Must have thought the visa sign was levitating in mid air by itself.
I have smashed a glass, tried to feed my lap with gin and tonic, stepped in the smashed glass, tried to retrieve the culprit with tweezers...sadly i was not drunk just usual clumsy. .Had an argument re location with my husband. i buy hamsa (hand bracelets from a shop on jl Oberoi called 'No Name'. Husband rang where are you? i am in 'No Name' it;s near the 'Somewhere' . Husband hung up on me My thongs the other night got sucked off my foot by a quicksand dung heap left by construction in the dark. We retrieved it and then to my horror ....S threw it on another dung heap. Scrambled to retrieve it. Both pairs of black Havanas have fallen victim to Bali now. One eaten by cheeky monkey a few years ago. Now swallowed and rescued from the dung.
Karma seems to live only in Bali ...
Taxi driver overcharged me,usual- i have no small change' . Nex minute - boom, taxi hit by motorbike who zooms off.
Super obnoxious woman at Motel Mexicola in toilets - nex minute - arguing with staff as cant pay her bill!!
Karma! please come to Adelaide. I have few people i want you to meet. Instant Karma is fabulous to watch.
Loved Motel Mexicola - food is yummy, sangria good, not too pricey. Owner walks from table to table making sure everyone is happy.
Also did the usual KuDeTA ..watched the sunset with a super pricey bintang. Friends had never been and so we took them. Also went to Potato head with the rest of the tourists - have to admit i still love the architecture and never tire of the walk in.
We have an open walled in bathroom in the villa- went to toilet at 5.30am this am to be greeted by......yep. A dirty great rat.
Not my first encounter in Bali with vermin . Whilst staying at a villa in Bali i started the end of 2012 off in spectacular fashion!
Saw what looked like the corner of a picture frame under the couch. Being the naturally nosy person that i am- i pulled it out didn't I? Was it a picture frame - I hear you ask? Nope.
It was 2 big fat wet RATS stuck on sticky paper jerking around!!!!
I screamed -they squealed and D was doubled up with laughter and shock.
The Balinese catch vermIn with sticky paper.
Apparently used in most villas and tourists hotels. They were removed by the staff but the image lingers on in horror loop in my head. i have heard from others that this is also used in Australia to catch mice.
Has karma come to get me too ???
