Well me old salt, if you did 20 years in the Navy then no doubt you would know about "pink" coloured glasses, frilly male knickers and the search for Golden Rivet...now on the other hand if you would have spent some of that time in the Army and got your "whites dirty" then you would have had a greater knowledge of the workings of the world other than life in a sea port bar :)
