Virgin Australia to Provide Complimentary Meal Service on Bali and Phuket Flights Effective April 24, 2013
Virgin Australia has announced a significant upgrade in their food and beverage services on all flights from Australia to Bali, Phuket and Trans-continental flights.
Effective April 24, 2013:
From the April 24, all flights to Denpasar and Phuket will serve guests, regardless of fare type, a complimentary hot meal and beverages, upgrading the service offering to align with current Trans-Continental flights.
All full service flights will have an ambient retail cart designed to complement the meals provided for guests by offering snack options and spirits not included with meals.
All flights departing from 3:00 am to 9:29 am will receive the breakfast offering, with two hot meals, one being vegetarian option each flight. These meals will include a main item, fruit bowl and a savory snack such as a muffin.
Flights departing from 9:30 am will offer a choice between two hot main meals, one vegetarian. A bread rolls and butter and one small snack such as a dessert slice or ice cream will accompany these main meals.
The change in meal service on these routes is being introduced by Virgin Australia to align with guest expectations on international flights. Key guest feedback has highlighted that satisfaction regarding Food & Beverage is an important area for improvement.
According to an official announcement from the Airline, in offering all guests a complimentary meal and beverages Virgin Australia aims to become the market leader for guest offerings with Jetstar only providing hot meals at an additional cost and without complimentary beverages on flights to Denpasar and Phuket.
