If you are thinking of buying USD with AUD and then changing over to rup, you will loose out. You are better just to take AUD as it is fecthing a higher rate on the streets in Bali than the USD. Even though the AUD is above the USD, when you actually go to buy the USD you will be lucky to get $ for $ as there are fees charged or a reduced exchange rate if no fees charged? I have bought some through post office, no fees charges but rate is only $1.01 or $1.02 to the AUD$. Just my experience. In saying all that if you are from the USA then I would def take USD....
