Neither PayPal or CC are bullet proof. For "tangible" goods yes. If that camera you bought is not what it was advertised as then you can return it and PP or most CCs will reverse the transaction and credit your account. But accommodation and villa rental are not tangible goods. Suggest you read the fine print. Provided you have verified that the villa is genuine and you are dealing directly with the owner, there is no problem with a funds transfer to their account. Villa rentals have been around for much of the last century and that means of payment is the international norm.
