I had an unopened bottle of alcohol and when we went the the Gardua office in Kuta to check in a couple of days before the flight we asked if it was allowed in our luggage. Their response was that it was perfectly fine as long as it was in the checked in luggage. Upon arriving at the airport we went through the X-ray and, on cue they stopped the suitcase and asked me to open it up. While I was doing this I told them that "if it is about the alcohol I have already checked with Garuda and they said it was fine to take in my case". He turned and mutter something the another guys behind him sitting at the machine and then proceeded to pick up an international plug adapter that was on the top of the contents inside and said "this was the problem but it looks fine"!!! Hahaha what a goose ....
