‘Tis the day before THE day! Good news - no rain!

Our mission after breakfast was to spend some time on our sunbeds to get in a last minute tanning session. Well, before we knew it 3 hours had flown by and it was nearly time for my 2 o'clock spa appointment. Off to Ayuning again. I had a French manicure and a pedicure which I chose silver glitter polish - I wanted silver but they didn't have just plain silver. Oh well, no worries, just go with the flow. Soon to be hubby had a coffee body scrub. We left the spa with comments from the staff to have a good wedding. They did seem to be giggling a bit and speaking in their language. I wonder what they were really saying? :o)

Now, I had planned this day carefully to fit in with the AFL pre-season games. I do not usually book in for spa treatments in Bali, I just head over when I want one and hope for the best. This day I couldn't leave it to chance, I had to make sure we were back in time for the football. I thought it would be a perfect night before the wedding, a chance for us to relax and enjoy watching our team play - dare I say it's the Essendon Bombers :o) I was actually quite excited about our night to come. We knew it wasn't on the normal TV so had planned to head to Peninsula Beach Resort hoping they might be showing it in their sports bar.

So, we get ready, jump in a taxi (I know, it's not far but a taxi was right there and it could move faster than us!) arrived at PBR and oh dear, no football. We asked the bar staff if they would be showing the football, they checked and the answer was not positive, it was a no. Bugger! I'm not sure if they were even able to get the football because I am pretty sure they would have put it on for us if they could have. We had also asked at NB and they couldn't get it working there either. Previously we had asked NB reception and they said we would be able to get it in our room but we couldn't and they couldn't help us. I'm not sure if they fully understood what we were wanting to watch.

We left PBR and went back to NB. On the way to our room we made a quick stop to check the scores on the internet. Damn, we lost the first game. We also tried searching for a channel we could watch via the internet or even just get radio commentary, anything! No success :o( We gave up, admitted defeat and decided it was not meant to be. Instead we enjoyed a movie in our room accompanied by room service for dinner. It was a nice relaxing night after our bit of a run around town. I know we could have gone out to Kuta but we really didn't want to do that and I'm glad we didn't.

I went to bed with happy thoughts about the day to come. Honestly, no nerves, no stress, nothing but a nice calmness about it all - and of course a good dose of excitement!

A little side note here: That night I realised I was a little sunburnt on one side - that's what you get for lying under an umbrella whilst trying to catch some sun and forgetting to change sides, leaving one side fully exposed for most of the time and the other only partially. It was quite funny actually, certainly nothing to ruin my day but you can tell in a few of the wedding photographs - another funny memory to cherish. We thought we might have been able to get a bit more of a tan but given we had had some rain and cloud cover we weren't really tanned, a little darker than when we first arrived in Bali but in a refreshed kind of way, a healthy kind of a way.

And as I said in my first report (I think it was the first) I am putting all these little things in, like the sunburn, because I will be printing these out and keeping with my wedding memorabilia - sorry if they bore you but please do feel free to skip over them. I realise this particular report is a little light on the content side but had to put in about the football because I know I will love reading it in the years to come.

Thanks for reading!
