We say 'in one ear and out the other, Bahasa Indonesia says 'masuk kanan keluar kiri' = in right (ear) out left; almost the same.

We say 'off like a prawn in the sun' for a nasty smell. they say 'ada udang di balik batu', there's a prawn (in the sun) behind the rock; both meaning a suspicion of dirty work, 'something rotten in the state of Denmark!' Shakespeare, maybe.

Little guy with large pretensions. We say 'little guy, big ideas ( ! )' They casually mention 'kecil-kecil cabai rawit (the little sputnik-shaped Indonesion Bird's Eye chilli)' meaning he's in his mind small but strong, in a sarky sense.

Maybe others can contributs, if not too mind-polluting!

Pete da pote.
