A few years ago the hawkers walked around with a wooden case slung over their shoulder, some had watches some had perfume some had snake oil and they were everywhere! If one managed to stop you, there were another half dozen or so crowding around you , very annoying! They didn't like to take NO as an answer! A lot of people bought just to get rid of them
