I remember the hawkers that used to walk around with their wooden boxes selling watches, sunnies etc. I was on my own about 20 years ago walking down Padma St which was fairly quiet back then. One of the watch guys tried selling me a watch and I said no I didn't wear watches, he became quite aggressive, swearing and abusing me so I kept walking. He came up behind me and slammed me right in the back with his case, to say it hurt like h*ll is an understatement, I just kept walking and he continued to follow me and abuse me. I was terrified as it was my first trip to Bali, I went back to my hotel and cried and swore I would never come back to this horrible place. 20 years and 23 trips later....well I am still going to Bali lol. But no I don't miss the guys with the boxes!!!!!
