I had my curtains made at Serba Antik a few years ago for two bedrooms and a largish living area. Four full-length drops in the living area, and much shorter in the bedrooms. Fabulous material, at less than $10 a metre.
The two lots of bedroom curtains both had block-out backing applied.
I can't fault Serba Antik's service and professionalism (plus they had a huge range of fabrics on offer - so very difficult choosing!!).
Serba Antik pulled out all stops to have my curtains made up and delivered to the airport on departure day (the curtains were done in Jakarta and shipped to Bali).
All up, they cost me nearly two grand. Flying them home cost me at least $300. I still thought $2300 all up was a bargain.
HOWEVER - and there is definitely a however - the hooks put on were inadequate for the weight of the curtains. The curtains immediately started falling off the tracks. I went to Bunnings and bought new heavy-duty hooks and stitched them on my hand. This didn't help a bit. The curtains continued to fall off, and the stitching then started to undo.
Over the next few years, the curtains went from bad to worse. About a month ago, I contacted an Australian professsional and asked her to quote on fixing my problem.
As it happens, this woman goes to Bali every year. She told me that Bali uses a different manufacturing system to Australia. She said my curtains were worth keeping - I'm so glad she didn't tell me they're garbage - but to have them fixed to Australian standards is going to cost me another $1000 (with two lots of new tracks - not Serba Antik's fault). So my $2300 curtains will now have cost me $3300.
The curtain lady said her clients now buy their fabric in Bali and bring it home to her to make up. Maybe this is a good way to go for you.
In my case, having curtains made in Bali was a false economy - a bit like having dental work done.
You might have different curtains in mind to what I had made... I'll leave my email address open. You could always have your curtains part made and get them finished off here.
Anyway, feel free to contact me.
Cheers
