I don't think anyone expects kids to be perfectly quiet on a flight - especially not a 6 hour flight Sydney to Bali.
Sh!t happens and kids get upset and tired and get ear problems etc. It's more the parents who sit by and do nothing at all when their kids are total turds that annoys most people. :)
The seat kicking is a good example. Or reaching up to grab the back of the headrest in front of them - and grabbing a chunk of your hair at the same time!
Some kids just have no fear of getting in trouble for anything, because it seems they never do get in trouble for anything!
