since they were born (now 8 & 4), and yes at times its hard to contain them for so long in one spot, however, my kids know that it is completely unacceptable to 1. kick the persons seat in front, 2. go from their seat to family across the isle or behind etc continuously. They are my two biggest rules. Every time I have travelled any where including bali I have sat my kids in their chairs and given them a set of rules otherwise the "Big scary Pilot" will come and tell them that he will stop the plane and they will be removed. I also ensure they have plenty to do and eat whilst on the flight. This is not to say there isnt the occasional tanty or tears, but they at least have respect for other people.

My last trip to Bali I had a family of 5 behind that had a mother and 2 kids directly behind and the father and 1 other child in the adjacent isle. The kids for 6 hours kicked the back of our chairs and went from Mummy to Daddy the whole trip! The parents were oblivious to it! I turned to the kid behind a number of times and said "stop kicking my chair pls" but he continued and the mother said absolutley nothing!

Needless to say that Parents these days are too afraid it seems to "hurt" their childs feelings and we are going to eventually have a nation of "nutbags" running aound the streets..
