at Barong Hotel, where we suffered infestation in two separate rooms, a few years back. Staff denied their existence, of course, until we found their nests in the blanket under the bedspread. The little fekkers breed in the warmth, avoiding the A.C., I suppose.
The Staff were quite miffed and insisted the fleas had come from Europe, with a recent tour group; perish the thought that fleas could breed in the Island of the Gods, the Sacred Simians would never breed 'em, sending them down from Ubud, would they?
To quote G.K. Chesterton.
"Tis said that fleas have smaller fleas
Upon their back to bite 'em
And these in turn, still smaller fleas
And so ad infinitum".
I know, different type of fleas!
Pete having a laugh.
