Arrived Sunday night staying at Bali Court in Legian for 4 nights. Great hotel with great staff in a good spot.Very quiet in Legian so shopkeepers trying to charge exhorbitant prices for clothing, shoes & watches.I don't mind paying paying a bit extra to help them out but 100,000 rp per bintang singlet , I don't think so. So off to Ketuts for half of my gear. I used to love Legian but won't stay again as there are far better places to visit and stay. Our driver Cucumber (shop next to JeJe's resort) took us out to Candidasa where we stayed for 3 nights at Le48 Happy Rezort right next to lagoon. What a great find this place was. Wife was over the moon, could not wipe the smile off her face. Great staff, rooms & restaurant and the pool to ourselves for 2 days. Had 3 breakfasts, a lunch & a dinner here all good, plus dinner at Vincents (with Jazz on Thurs nights) was magic. Wish I had come to Candidasa sooner as it is very pretty place and a great spot to do tours from, including Ujung Water Palace, Tirtagangga finishing with lunch at Amed. Staying a week next time so I can fit in some snorkelling & fishing. 10 - 17 June at Besakih Beach Hotel in Sanur, ate at Cinnamon, Street Cafe & Warung Ribs ( both do great spareribs), 3 Monkeys, Village, Kesumas , Luhtus ( best iced coffee). Did the Bamboo Shoots Cooking Class at SBV with Wife and loved it. Irma, Dewi & Dulcie were great hostesses and the food was just as good( best Rendang I've had), met Ron - good bloke & SBV nice place. Also did the Bali Dolphin Tour at Serangan Island & recommend this to everyone as it was one of the highlights of the trip. Went to Tootsies twice for clothing & Missus bought several handbags and purses there. I did Bowen therapy on Tootsie both times, as she had pain in her upper back and elbow. Nice lady, sells fixed priced items at a good price. Been to Bali 4 times and Besakih Beach Hotel is the only place we've stayed twice at. The beds are hard but, we just love this place and can't wait to go back. Love Sanur & Candidasa. Cheers
