You are not one of the people I am really referring to. I am referring to the people on here that are being played for a fool and it's usually those that haven't been here before or have only been once. I hear it many times a week, especially from the new visitors from Australia.
I know many Australians actually do it quite tough themselves, and many chose Bali to holiday as it's cheaper than their own country. They save for a year for a 10 day holiday and then tricked into believing someone is worse off and feel they need to give to them.
Giving to friends is different, my post was to open the eyes of those that feel that salaries are so low here that they should give gifts or money to people that are already being paid to do their job.
If no-one cares about the fellow Australians being ripped off, I am mistaken in thinking that Australians had a sense of camaraderie and should just shut up then. I would not let a friend be ripped off so I am unsure why you would say "I understand that many Australians may be "ripped off" but you know, if they are happy to give and continue giving and it doesnt hurt them, then whats the issue?". It will hurt them when they find out they've been played, it can hurt more if people know they are and don't say anything, that's where I am coming from.
