A few years ago one young girl there got pregnant (at 18) to a young Australian boy (19) who has not stepped foot back in Bali (knows about the baby). Tesa decided that this was a good learning experience for any of her girls that thought catching a white boy was a meal ticket. So, she arranged for Ketut to come back to work with extra health insurance for her and for the baby. She arranged for the baby to stay with her Uncle during the day so Ketut could come to work for 8 hours a day knowing full well she would tell the girls how bad it was raising a baby with no support. This way Ketut still has a job, health insurance and a free babysitter but she can scare the other girls with her sob stories so they may think twice about trying to hook a white boy by getting pregnant. The condition was that if Ketut mentioned these sob stories to the clients she was out immediately. By the way, that child has blonde hair and does not look Balinese at all and is doing very well.
