kevinoz, suggest you read this post and the responses to it. It would appear that a travel insurance company refused to pay out on an item that went missing while the bag was left in a vehicle.

If you do decide to go on with your plans yes, take the name, rego number etc of the driver. Maybe ask to sight a license so you have an address as well.
