How trustworthy are the bemo drivers?

Hi, I have organised with a bemo driver to take me around for a few days during which I will be surfing. I just negotiated with one of the guys I met on the street. I wanted to know how trusworthy are these guys? If I leave my bag in the car with my SLR camera, etc.. what is the chance that they will just drive off and keep the camera? If I want to ensure my valuables are safe am I better off organising a driver via an agency, etc? Thanks.
