Flew back to Perth yesterday. Had a really great time again but soured at airport.
At first security screening at Departure entry to Bali Airport, security official tried to confiscate unopened duty free alcohol bought in Perth. Stated that duty free bought in Australia must be consumed in Bali ! He wanted to confiscate the alcohol. But when challenged (I want to speak to supervisor) he agreed to let it thru , if the suitcase was wrapped in plastic before checkin ! We didn't.
It is a variation on the bottled water scam which operated last year on the gate lounge - sold by kiosk near gate lounge and then confiscated by security on gate lounge
