are nowhere near $50 a night for August (it's high season). More like $85 to 90 a night for a standard room.

Maybe Sayang Maha Merta, but only if they have a Deluxe room available. The standard and superior rooms are very, very basic.

I think a better suggestion would be Vilarisi in Lebak Bene, opposite Champlung Mas. Deluxe rooms are US$55, if booked via internet. Mostly good reviews on TripAdvisor.
