We first arrive. That way it's easy to look after while on holiday. Each night we'd swim and I'd rinse it in the shower and still apply shampoo and conditioner just did it gently. Before we come home we have it redone (she likes to show school friends, but we only use school colours) when I take it out, it's one plait at a time with loads of conditioner which I leave in to stop the frizz. The next day wash as normal and it's fine. Remember we loose about 100 strands of hair a day naturally and when it's braided that doesn't happen so of course there's alot of hair lose. Let them have it braided. They feel so special while its being done. A real girlie experience for them. We're going in 3 mths and my daughter has kept her beads from last visit for this trip.
