be taking this personally as ex-airline staff but just wanted to point out that immigration laws are not a power trip AT ALL. Choosing what seat you sit in is though so watch out! If the staff member allows you to travel ANYWHERE and you have not satisfied the requirements of entry the the worst for you is you are sent on the next plane at the airlines expense. The staff member that sent you can be stood down (depending on how many times this has happened) and its a serious offence. The airline is ialso fined $5000 - $10000. This isnt a threat to the airlines it happens. In one particular month I saw that QF was fined $45 thousand from various countries. Thats a big chunk of profit lost and hikes up seating prices
