On our way to the next hotel we had to do a stop by BIMC for my son as he had a small incident. I was expecting to be waiting hours as it was non critical however we were in and out in 50 minutes. This included seeing a doctor, medical report for travel insurance & payment of 600,000rp. This place would put some of our hospitals to shame. The cleaner did the floors 3 times in 50 minutes, I swear you could eat of it. Very impressed.

We arrived at the Besakih hotel and had booked 2 standard rooms as we were told none of their rooms could accomodate 4 which was fine with us. Boys in one room, girls in the other.

Besakih is in a great location with an infinity pool with swim up bar overlooking the beach pathway. This was our 2nd stay at the Besakih however 1st with the kids. Probably wouldnt stay here with the kids again as I was always worrying about them being too noisy or messing around too much as most of the guests are older and childless. Still we were only here for a few days and the kids did me proud.

Shopped up big at Tootsies and Jennys (both fixed price). Found tootsie had larger range of goods that suited us.

Went to hardys and probably got ripped off buying a mentari sim for 100,000 plus credit but it paid off in the end having to make a few calls back home to travel insurance etc. Stocked up on tiger balm, GPU ointment for aches and pains and salonpas plasters.

Kids wanted to have their hair streaked so went over to Chic Beauty across the road from Besakih. I was surprised by the amount of people getting their hair done. Boy got full head of foils and girl with long hair 1/2 head foils both for 600,000. They are very professional at this salon and both kids were very happy with the outcome as was I. I have long hair and had a wash and hair straightened with irons for 90,000rp.

Kids spent one afternoon playing with the local kids on the beach. Playing anything from soccer, sandcastle building, swiming, local kids showing my kids how they fish with a plastic bottle, a bit of line and hook with a freshly crushed crab. The kids just loved this afternoon and ranted and raved about the fun they had. Not bad coming from kids who are totally addicted to electronics back home.

Ate at Mona Lisas twice as hubby didnt stop ranting and raving after our first visit. For the 4 of us mains, drinks & dessert under 350,000rp. We were lucky to get a table both times with no booking but would probably suggest you book. Staff were pleasant and even remembered my daughters allergy on 2nd visit.

Massages (1 hr), manicures and pedicures on beach out front of Besakih 50,000rp each.
