Yep, I rmember all that. One of the best thigs that was put in was the walking path along Sanur. Before that it was a stagger along the beach in the heat. Up and down ditches and with rubble everywhere. Not so nice. It's a great walk now!
I remember the coloured T shirts and singlets - one style - 100 colours. Cheap as chips.
The paddy fields were just outside Sanur - out in the country in a flash and it was safe enough to hire a motor bike and explore the island every day. Gosh we got around. No helmets just bandanas to keep the wind burn from our foreheads.
Candidasa was a hut on the beach and that was it. Satay or satay for lunch.
It is all so different now - so much building - and so much traffic.
That said, I am off to the airport in 25 minutes and I'll be in Bali tonight! Woohoo!
