When I left the Griya in mid March the lobby rebuilding was still underway, but this does not affect the operation of the hotel. Griya's buffet breakfast is o.k. but you do get tired of the same food every morning, so we did not include breakfast in our accommodation package and ate at several cafes on the main street, as well as the Wicked Parrot located at the entrance to the hotel.Never had a bad meal in Sanur - always chose cafes with a good number of customers.
Ubud is a very good shopping town. Go to the market and then walk along Monkey Forest Road, and Honaman Street. A car with driver will cost you about 300,000 rph for the day and there are plenty of drivers at the front of the Griya willing to negotiate a price. It takes about 40 minutes to drive from Sanur to Ubud, depending on traffic.
We found Bali duty free has good prices, and the system for taking on board is the same as Australia.
