constructive criticism and points were well made. The uglification of Bali by building directly on roads is continuing apace. Give it 10 years and there will be little visible countryside left, and like most routes to Ubud, it will be like driving through one enormous city - even if it's mostly only one building deep.It's happening in Karangasem too as year by year the countryside vanishes behind ugly new businesses.
Balinese decision makers don't seem to realise that by their lack of action over town/country zoning, lack of greenspaces and failure to address rubbish and traffic problems years ago they are slowly strangling the golden goose to death.
The Churchills who send this message are cried down by the Chamberlains who don't want to see what is blatently obvious.
I don't want it to be like this but it is.
