I would recommend Sanur and either the Griya Santrian or maybe the Besakih right next door. You are then central in Sanur and can walk out onto the main street or out on the beach they are both close to the markets and everything you would need. Not as much shopping as Kuta.
I go into Legian for the day and do some shopping and the rest of the time is Sanur and surrounds.
