It was the excuse for every price rise imaginable. The best one was when we stopped in Lombok to have our car washed. The sign said 10,000rpbut when we asked how much the guy said sorry it's 15,000 rp now because petrol has gone up! Asked if he washes the car with petrol big laughing session. Ended up paying more than asking price cause they did such a good job.
