You must have a motorcycle license in the state where you live and then go to the RAC with your current license and a passport photo, it should cost you around $30 , If you don't have a motorcycle license in Australia be very careful, if you have an accident your travel insurance may not cover you, most people over there will hire you a bike without even asking to see it, Ive seen young girls hiring bikes that would have been lucky to be old enough to have a license let alone a bike license and they where hired bikes without a question, i then watched them do u turns across the traffic with obviously no riding experience, one didn't quite make it around before she fell over with the bike, the guys that hired her the bike ran out put her back on the bike gave her a push and away we go,.... good times.
