Phoning the Airline is the right thing to do. My daughter let the same thing happen when flying Bris to Malaysia it delayed the flight for over an hour whilst checking her identity and the error due to the passport number being diff on the ticket to her passport. IF only she had phoned in the first place instead of ignoring it things would of been made easy on the day of departure.
