I must disagree about not ever having a replacement meal when meal was bad. Once in Bali I had a meal that was so salty I just could not eat it. I was unsure what to do but in the end I told the owner as I was hungry, and they cooked me a replacement meal which I was happy with. Another incident last year I was with 2 other people and ordered a seafood meal. They came out together and mine was stone cold. I just couldn't eat it. Was going to let it go but decided to point it out. The owner came over and apologised, and offered to cook another meal. I really didn't want to wait that long so declined, but in a nice way. He indicated that it was so busy the plate must have been sitting waiting to be brought out. There is no way I can be angry with them, but just can't let it go all the time and probably helps to let them know. When it was time to pay the bill he told me there was no charge for my meal. I felt a bit bad about that, but really it was only fair.
