All the rooms, except for the renovated building are 2 stories. If you get an upstairs room, you will need to climb the stairs to get to your room. The recently renovated building by the new pool (towards the back of the property) has elevators. You can request a ground floor room and they are usually pretty good about accommodating that request.
I love the Padma and have stayed there 9 times in the past 4 years. Unfortunately my last stay will be this November. The rate that I get has increased by 80% in 4 years. I know all hotels in Bali have increased their rates but now the Padma rates are comparable to any nice hotel, in other beach areas around the world. I do like the renovations that they have done but I honestly think they are outpricing themselves.
They do seem to be quite full all the time though so I guess there is a demand for what they are offering.
Now the challenge will be to find something comparable!!!
