I haven't stayed in the block of rooms (poolside rooms, suites, cheaper rooms) so am not sure about those.
We've stayed at the padma many times and have really liked it. Breakfast is included in the room rate and is great - big buffet with huge range of Indo, eastern and western food. Other food and drink is expensive but that's to be expected in hotels. In contrast to Chris, I found the pool a bit warm - although there are two so maybe we are talking about different ones.
Good location, between the nightlife of Kuta and the lack of it in Seminyak.

We aren't staying there next time because the price had gone up 30% from when we stayed last and I wanted to stay a bit longer this time (lower room price, longer stay). However I am still hoping we haven't make a mistake, it is really nice.
