We stayed there about 2 years ago at the Shangri La. The hotel is OK, rooms were nice. Pool was wet, could be quite hot as there is alot of concrete. Stayed in a Studio room, this was right next to the bar. Meals were expensive and nothing special, we only ate one meal here. The main road is full of resturants and not much of a walk.
We had our own car so did a few trips to Amed, Tirta Ganga etc.
This place is a time share and you can expect to have a talk to get you to by into time share. Some how we didn't have to go to the talk. Maybe they realised that we were not spending money at the hotel. We bought a $99 voucher on ebay.
If you want to try a different area and are willing to stay for 7 nights it is a cheap weeks accomodation. We would do it again.
We also spent 7 nights at the Risata in Tuban as part of another timeshare promotion the year before we stayed at the Shangri la.
