Well I thought it was funny but maybe nobody else will. Who knows? Anyway the whole conversation was undoubtedly good practice for my Bahasa Indonesia.
Needing to go to the loo around sunset on Kuta Beach last night I paid my Rp2,000 to the young guy sitting at the desk.
"Hello" he said Back again" and not sure whether he meant back to Kuta or back to the toilet block, I replied that I was indeed back again.
"Been drinking lots of Bintang, ah?" was his response. Right obviously talking about the toilet block not Bali in general so I told him that I hadn't had a Bintang yet only a diet coke.
"OK, need toilet paper?" he smilingly replied. Mustering as much diginity as possible under the circumstances I thanked him and took the unusually generous wad of toilet paper and paddled off into the loo.
