we used Travel Bug due to the 1 per day dosage & no need for refrigeration. I used half a capsule per day for my young daughter (sprinkled on her cereal or mixed with juice) and the adults just took our one per day starting 5 days prior to travelling.
I can't say for certain that they work. Hubby & my teenage stepdaughter stopped taking them after arriving in Bali & only my youngest & I continued throughout the holiday. None of us were sick during that trip. I took them as a precaution as it was my first time back to Bali with kids & my daughter was only 3 at the time. We've since been back 3 other times & haven't bothered taking anything. My little girl has never had the dreaded BB and hubby & I both only been sick once each.
I think a lot of so-called "Bali belly" is people suffering upset from a change in diet, eating a lot more fried foods, drinking fresh fruit juice etc rather than food poisoning. The Probiotics might help a bit with a change in diet but won't be of any benefit if you eat contaminated food. Drinking a Yakult or 2 a day is probably just as effective (& a much cheaper alternative).
