sorry to say, but from experience there is generally a low level of donors here and tourists that are donors in Australia and other countries should give blood here, what if we had another major catastrophy what would you do rely on imported blood to come from supporting countries EG (Darwin) Australia.
Most of the expats here are unaware as there is no advertising for this, In a recent hospital stay here I waited 3 days for A+ blood and was on very expensive injections to help increase red and white blood cells, unfortunately I cannot donate but wish I could.
lets all get together and try to help imagine if it was your family member after an accident of what ever.
