whereby the prevailing westerly winds drive rubbish from ceremonial activities, river outlets and perhaps even from neighbouring islands, onto the beach.
This is often accompanied by significant numbers of dead or dying fish.
April is quite late to see this as it is usually far worse around the Xmas period.
It's hard to know if the same will be the case this april as this depends on the timing of the wind shift from the west to the east.
