Kuta Beaches

Howdy. We visited Bali for the first time in April last year (2011). We noticed that Kuta Beach has a huge amount of rubbish washed up on the beach and there were large piles of it that tractors etc were moving around. Mainly up near Bali Garden Hotel (near WaterBom).

Im not just talking about a little bit of rubbish. This was a ridiculous amount of rubbish.

Is this normal for Kuta beach? It certainly wont put me off going back (already booked for April this year), but I was just wondering if we sould expect the rubbish again. It did kind of spoil the beach. We didnt spend any time ont he beach at all.
