Luckily they are now all teenagers and are more likely to comment "what brats" when they see this kind of behaviour!
However I must comment that your are totally right that POOR PARENTING is the cause - however maybe we need to look at the cause which I think has a lot to do with how little we value now parenting as a role / job / skill. The Balinese approach to parenting could teach us all some lessons!
