WE have just spent 3 wonderful weeks at our home away from home, like many of you we travel to Bali many times each year with and without our children.
Many mornings, nights and meals were ruined by the way other parents let their children behave. Just because you are on holiday its no excuse to let your children behave like obnoxious little prats.
No parent can help it when the little ones break out into a tantrum but letting your teenage sons run on the roof of the hotel until one of them fell through our verandah roof at 2.15 am is poor parenting. And to the mothers who sat by the pool all day while your seven kids ripped the pool table, broke the pool cues and removed the turtles from the pond, and ran through the halls yelling at 6am, I know you were on holidays but it does not mean you need to forget how to be a parent and respect the fact that everyone else at the hotel is trying to enjoy their well deserved holiday too.
By no means am I the fun police but I managed to enjoy my holiday and make sure that my kids did not destroy the place or annoy too many people. If you want to forget about everything and have no responsibilities don't take your kids.
