I think its wonderful that whole families can now afford to go to Bali for a holiday! Kids and babies don't worry me, you'd expect they may grizzle on take-off or landing because their ears hurt (mine still do...) and that they may be scared of flying (I know some adults that won't hop on a plane). What annoys 90% of the time is the attitude of
some of the parents - if your kid is kicking crap out of the seat in front of them the parent should do something about it, same with kids hanging over the seat, running up the aisles etc.
Its wonderful that Bali is so affordable, beats going to Rottnest Island and paying a fortune for a very basic chalet, going to Margaret River or Busselton and paying big bucks for a chalet in a caravan park. Accomodation in Australia (WA anyway) just does'nt compare to Bali. As for those who say "leave the babies home", glad you were'nt my mum or dad.
