You have the choice to transit or not with Air Asia, there is a small cost(departure from K/L)of maybe $5 but this is in the cost of your ticket to Bali.
We choose to not transit in K/L and use immigration and then straight away do check-in for next flight which then allows us to walk down to the food court for lunch then back into the departure lounge.
When booking put in Melb to bali and this will put you into the transit lounge and luggage will go straight through to your destination and also save the small fee for departure in K/L.
