I for one don't accept plastic bags from sellers as I always carry a green shopping bag that I bring from home. I also use a green shopping bag from home for my laundry so that it does not come back wrapped in plastic.
I don't accept the plastic cups of water from salons etc as I always carry my own water bottle that I refill at my hotel with their bulk water station for a small fee.
If more people carried their own shopping bags and water bottles there would be no need for the vendors etc to supply them.
