It keeps the neck of the bottle clean, as well as being a security device.
RE Trash, when i first got with my indonesian fiance she would often litter, and laugh at me when i kept putting rubbish in my pocket. I explained my reasons, and low and behold she has got a lot better at not littering. (at least while in my company). She didnt see the problem with it at first, just thought 'thats what we do'.
I think i scared her a bit by telling her if she done that when she moves to england she will have the police tapping on her shoulder and a hefty fine to pay :-)
