Thanks for the reply wadulla - My reading of wss reply was that he/she was not referring to the Tourist Card but to a different Simpati branded Telkomsel card that allowed 14 days of unlimited access once topped up with 50,000 Rp.

The Telkomsel web site with details of the Tourist Card reads as though the 2 Gb of data is included with initial set up (not based on any specific top up ammount) and will show on a balance query sent to *888#. There is no time limit of 14 days on the data but the free 50 mins of international calls are limited to the first 10 days.

Further reading on the other Simpati packages shows that data (after 50,000 Rp top up) is at a speed of 384 kbs to a maximum of 100 Meg in 14 days although a further sms to Telkomsel is supposed to reactivate the 'unlimited' data again and another report that the stated maximum is not really monitored or enforced by Telkomsel anyway.
